Please help quickly. I have a Diamond Viper v550 card. The system is a PIII-450 with 256k RAM. Everything has worked fine till now. When playing an AVI or MPEG file, the lower portion of the screen freezes, sometimes displaying green & pink bars. The upper portion may continue to play, but its jerky. Quicktime, streaming video, and MOV files play OK. Just a thought: This started after I downloaded Windows Media Player 7. I uninstalled it, but the problem remains. Is it the media player, something else, or is the video card going? Thanks!

I would uninstall the video drivers for your vid card and reinstall them (not allowing later drivers to stay in)...Windows Media must have overwritten one of the drivers....BUT.....get some more input before doing anything drastic.

Also have you installed the latest drivers for your card?

Try here for the driver:Diamond MultiMedia (http://www.diamondmm.com/default.asp?menu=support&submenu=Legacy_Graphics&item=drivers&product=Viper_V550)
