Monitor revert

i have windows 98, and a Hansol 710p monitor
which i can set in windows. i can not however set the
adapter, and i have tried everything. i also have no
drivers on cd to do it with. i can set a standard svga
adapter, but when i rest the computer as it tells me
to, it does not keep the settings and reverts back to
16 colour 640x800. it sould be high colour and the
next size up. please help if you can!

If you dont have any drivers for your video card then the ONLY way you will get it to work is to find out the NAME of the video chipset or video card manufacturer. To do that you must take the cover off the computer[with it unplugged] and remove the video card (in most cases).....look at it and write down the exact info on the front or back of vid card. Then someone can give you the site on the internet where you can download the drivers for that card so it will work @ 16 bit, 24 bit or 32 bit and give more colors.
