Hi,
I tried to change the settings for my display and set them too high and unfortunately pressed the wrong button and saved the settings. The screen is now black and a error message saids there are too many scans or something tothat effect.
What should I do now to change the display settings back--OS in NT 4.0 and I did not make an Emergency repair disk. Last known Good Configuration does not work either.
I welcome any suggestions that will help me.

I am totally out of my element here (NT) but when you sya that "Last known configuration does not work either", do you mean that you have done this:
reboot to command prompt only type at the prompt: scanreg_/restore
with the (_) underscore respresenting a s_pace.
you will be presented with a list of registry dates. Choose one prior- to when you had the program problem or change.
again, I don't even know if this will WORK in NT... someone else will hopefully be around to advise.

I'm basically out of my element here too, but if NT has something like Safe Mode, try that, change the video settings back and reboot. Check back, we have a couple of folks here who are very good with NT, maybe they will have some better ideas.
