I HAVE A COMPUTER WHICH OPERATES ON WINDOWS NT 4 WORKSTATION. THE COMPUTER WAS STRUCK BY NAVIDAD VIRUS.WITH THE HELP OF MACFEE ANTI VIRUS CO. I MANAGED TO REMOVE THE VIRUS. BUT I CAN'T RESTORE THE FILES AND DRIVERS FOR SOUND AS THE SYSTEM REPORTS THAT THE FILES ARE (IN A DIRECTORY WITH A NAME $Win$nt$1s~) NOT VALID FOR WINDOWS NT 4. WHEN CONNECTING TO INTERNET THERE IS A DIALING SOUND BUT THERE IS NO SOUND THROUGH THE SOUND CARD WHEN PLAYING AUDIO CD. IF YOU PLUG THE SPEAKERS IN THE FRONT CD ROM HEADPHONE JACK YOU CAN HEAR SOUND/MUSIC.

You'll need to reinstall the sound drivers. The "$Win$nt$1s~" folder is the type of directory that is created when you install Windows NT or a service pack.
