i have a small problem. once in a while my video card driver seems to not function. the found new hardware window pops up and i have to reinstall everything again. it's not too bad but it is a pain. does someone know why this is happening?

my specs are:

Pentium 866
256Sdram
Monitor: Visual Sensations VS-190i
Driver: ATI Xpert2000 v4.0

Vid Card: ATI Video Card (is there any way of finding out which type i have without opening up the pc?

Go to http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra/index.htm and download "SiSoft Sandra Standard" and install it. After installation open sandra and click on "mainboard information",
that should give you all the information about what components are connected with the motherboard. Also there is a video card info also.

Pull the card and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser and make sure it is seated fully. Unless there is some software issue...I can't think of anything else.
