Is there anyway on a monitor's settings that it can be prevented or adjust automatically from offsetting the image when the resolution is changed? I've got a couple games that run in a low resolution and they shift the image to the right about an inch. It's difficult to move it around because the knob/pot for adjusting is kind of shot. It's a Dell 1226H monitor, but made by some other manufacturer.
Thanks.

The game is running at a refresh rate not supported by the monitor or video
adapter. I have found this problem to be extremely common. Even though most
people balk at setting their refresh rates at a "lowly" 60hz due to the
subsequent perception of screen flicker give it a try to see if this resolves your problem. Set the adapter refresh rate in display properties
to 60hz and also use the "override" setting to tell DirectX to always use
this refresh rate, as it's almost always supported at any resolution by
any monitor. The aforementioned "override" setting is located under the
path--Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information. In the
resulting window choose "tools" at the top and from that menu "direct X
diagnostic tool" then from the next window select "more help"--you'll
find it there.

Thanks, Bill. I'll give it a try. I've noticed that changing the refresh rate does that also. I thought I had heard somewhere long ago that "digital" monitors had a place that settings could be saved somewhere, but I'm not sure what constitutes a "digital" monitor.
