My sound card is making me nuts. I have a .wav file set up
to play when I sign off of AOL. This sound skips every time.
I know the .wav file is okay b/c when I click on it, it works
fine. I don't have any IRQ conflicts. I tried replacing the
sound card b/c I wasn't too sure about the driver on my old
sound card, but that didn't help.

Any suggestions would be very helpful!
Thanks!

Welcome to the PC Guide,

You may want to post back some more details regarding your system, e.g. type sound card, processor, ram, etc. This would be most helpful.

If you are using a PCI based sound card, then there could be some system lag caused by the demands of other PCI devices like video cards. Repeated requests by the video card or modems can cause slowdowns on the PCI chipset. See this link (PCI Audio) for a much better description, http://www.pctechguide.com/11sound2.htm#PCI_audio.

Good luck,

I'm running Windows 98 SE. It's a Creative Soundblaster
PCI 128 Sound Card. I have a Pentium II processor, 350 mhz
and 256mb RAM.

Thanks for taking the time to try to help.
