How do i make my downloaded movie play????

i have just downloaded a movie from the net but when i try to run it , the sound is good but there is no picture. When i look in the properties and try running prreview, i get the following error.

'Video not available cannot find 'VIDS mp43' decompressor

what does this mean?

You do not have the proper codec ( software encoder/decoder ) file to " decode " the flick.

if you are using Windows media player you should be able to automatically download the proper codec; if it's not able to then go here, Divx-digest (http://www.divx-digest.com/index.html) to find either the appropiate codec or a different movie player.

May I suggest you also have a look on www.vcdhelp.com (http://www.vcdhelp.com) - a wonderful site full of codec links etc.
