Error audio playback MMSYSTEM004: Some other program is using the sound card.
Error in audio capture MMSYSTEM004: If you don't have any other program running, this probably means that your card can't work in full-duplex. Search through all the properties of your card to see if you can enable it or search for newer drivers.
test that in the Multimedia Properties of the Control Panel, the box 'use only prefered devices' isn't checked, and the selected devices are the input and output of your soundcard.
Make sure that you don't have shared resources with your sound-card, specially IRQ

Could also mean that one or more parts of the drivers for the sound card are either missing or corrupted...if what yoda susggests doen't work you can try removing the sound card drivers in safe mode and reinstalling them.
