Lost Sound on my Microphone

A couple of days ago i was installing some cheap kids program from cerial boxes in my computer for my grandaughter she then did want that one so i took it out. I happenend to try to record a message on Sndrec32 and on purevoice and there is no voice. I hear songs or any prerecord music etc. Just useing the mic it won't record. I even used another mic to check.

[I'm assuming you have Win98 and the volume (loudspeaker) icon is on the taskbar (next to the clock).]

Right click on the volume icon > Open Volume Controls > Options > Properties > Check the box next to "Microphone"
