I recently opened my case to clean my processor fan and while putting the case back on I knocked the video card out of place. I didn't know this and when I turned on the machine, it gave me a long and then short beeps. The shop who replaced the fan, reseated the video card and everything was fine until the screen went black with short green lines across the top. I had to reboot since the video did not come back on. The shop said that my motherboard is bad. Sometimes the computer will work fine for a few days, but then it can suddenly go back to this black screen. Is there anything that anyone recommends. It seems to go out when I am on the web. Thanks.

troubles with mobo's can be a pain but it seems to me unless the battery is gone, overheating, static electricity,or power surge,or you've cracked the board some how? seems to me if youronline and this is when your having problems doesen't sound like mobo.seems to me if it were the mobo it would do it all the time.kind of sounds like the card to me.But i could be wrong
hang on for a couple of other suggestions

Yoda,
Could be...
Trying to follow the logical progression here and it seems that the MB would have been spared by the acknowledgment with the beep codes that the video was not responding. It does however, seem strange that you're getting random problems after it was working when the shop sent it back.
Usually random hangs etc are heat related or power related. I'm wondering if the real problem might have to do with the CPU and the fact that the video board got jarred is really a red herring here.
Since the shop replaced the fan...it's possible that there's now a thermal problem going down here! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I'll go with Whyzman and say this sounds like crappy " shop " work. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
More than likely they are responsible for further damaging your PC and are attempting to get you into their clutches again for more money.
If you have any technical know-how, open the case and inspect the components yourself, try to get ahold of another video card and try it-see if you get the same errors. Also check to see if your CPU fan is spinning.
