View Full Version : Video Card Missing Memory
I just bought and installed a VissionTek XTASY 5564 GeForce2 video card with 64Mb RAM. After installing the card, and downloading the Windows XP drivers, it is working. BUT when I check the card in either System INfo or in the Display Adapter it only reports 32Mb. Is this a problem with my video card, computer or is it just a a reporting problem?
My computer is a Gateway 1700, P4 1.7Gb and 512Mb RAM
I run Windows XP
By the way, my old video card was 32Mb, but I doubt this would matter.
Thanks in advance,
Erik

Interesting questiion , where did you get the video card from, was it a refurb, i would not think windows would lie to you.
However it might have some issues about reading 64mb cards, ill look around see what i come up with. seeya

As far as I can tell it is a brand new card, all sealed up and everything, from CompUSA. I was thinking along the same lines, that it is probably just windows having a problem reading the 64Mb and displaying, but still using the full memory. I think this would be odd though, as many computers come with Windows and 64Mb video cards.
Thanks for your thoughts,
Erik
Check with tech support...I kind of remember seeing something about some GF2 having a bad batch of chips...the memory really isn't there!
