VGA Trouble

hello:
Hope some1 can help me: have an old pc and whenever i turn it on, it shows me the POST, the initial windows starting screen, but when it goes into windows, the dysplay fails and it doesnt show me anything at all. Please can some1 tell me what has gone wrong?

What type of card?
what windows you running?
do you know if you have the latest drivers?
Have you down loaded or added anything latley?
Have you moved the machine or bumped the card loose?
Have you gone into device mgr. to see if you have any conflicts?
Post back with that and we'll go from there.
Have you changed the display settings at all?

Typically when you have video in DOS and it disappears in Windows it is a driver/refresh rate problem. See if you can boot into safe mode, if so remove the drivers and reinstall them...make sure you have the correct drivers for your video card before you do this, unzipped and ready to install.....

sorry about that! the computer uses Win95, the vga chip its on board, not sure about the drivers, never used it for internet, but i cant check the device settings cause every time(no mater which monitor i try) as soon as it goes into windows, the screen goes blank.
Mind you, i havent been able to boot into safe mode, please could some body tell me the key combination for going into safe mode?

watch the screen while it is still black when you see "starting windows 95" Imediatly press F5 Key that will put you in safe mode.
