My sound system is exactly as I want it except for this particular problem with specific .wav files. eg: The intro. to a program I use is a *.wav file. It is distorted, varies in pitch, and varies in tempo.
After running that program, all of my *.wav programs are distorted until I reboot the computer. I will not be more precise at this time, because you may be able, with this info. to advise me where I should look for a remedy.
NB ONLY wav files are affected.
Thanks

Sorry to have troubled you all. I have disabled all sound files in the program ("Typing Tutor by GSP"). My sound system has not mis-behaved since.
The symptom is interesting, but I'm sorry for taking your time. You may be interested in delving deeper if you have any academic interest, in which case I can furnish you with some more data.
Thanks again.

I was thinking about this after I looked at it, and about the only thing I can come up with is the sound file is corrupt...and was going to suggest disableing it or trying to reinstall the program.
