I have been to Creative`s website to get a driver, but there is no mention of the CT4670,even when using"search".
What driver do I use?.Any of the Soundblaster Live! ones?.There are about 4 or 5 and I dont know what one to download.Help!!!.

P.S. No,I did`nt get any drivers with the card.

I am using W98se.
I have been on Creative Europe`s site, but no mention of Ct4670 drivers.Just Soundblaster Live stuff. Not sure which one to use!!!.
My card says in the top right of PCB:Soundblaster Live CT4670.
Do Creative release specific drivers for each card,or generic drivers to cover a list of cards?.Maybe that`s why I cant find one relating to my particular card.

So thats the complete driver?.
Sorry to be so dumb sounding, but this is my first foray into the world of upgrading sound cards!!!.
It says some thing about it being for samplers?.Is this the complete driver software to get the card up and running.
Just read my post.I sound like a complete newbie!!!!!!!!.

Hey,

Just go to www.creative.com, (http://www.creative.com,) support section/downloads, and choose your particular model of Live! card, whether it's the regular card, the value card, the 5.1 card, etc. You get the idea. Don't worry about the model number.

Cheers,

Ok,I got the drivers and the speakers are working. However, there is a faint hiss coming from them if you listen really closely.Playback is good, but again,if you listen closely, there is definately some interference of some sort coming from the speakers.I have tried moving leads about and checked the connections, but its still there.
It is sort of bearable, but my last speakers did`nt do this so why should I put up with it with these ones?.The are brand new Labtec Spin 70 speakers.

You using a GigaByte Mboard by any chance?

If so, GigaByte has a fix for this. Transistor problem. Has to do with impedence.

Luck.

Nope.Its a Trigem Napoli 2 board that I have.The dreaded E-Machines!!!!.
It originally had onboard sound(CrystalFusion),which I disabled in the BIOS.

1. Double click the speaker icon in the tool tray, bottom right of screen, and open the main volume controls. Playback Controls should open. Make sure the Microphone is muted. The mic picking up ambient room noise often causes the hiss you describe.

2. For future information CT 4760 is the circuit board number. It has little or nothing to do with what drivers are needed. for example I have a couple of older Creative sounds cards with board numbers CT 3600, CT 2950, and CT 1600. Two so far both use the same Sound Blaster 16 driver, I'm going to look up the other one later.

Since windrivers is now a pay site (GRRRR) the best place I know of to look for drivers other than the Creative site is Driver Guide (http://www.driverguide.com) You have to register, but it's a free registration and I have never received any spam from them. Once you are familiar with the site you can go to the Drivers Found boards and look for your model number. In the Creative channel the circuit board number is frequently used, but as I stated above it's not really necessary for locating the correct drivers. BB_66 had the idea, go to the Creative site and look for your model number.
