Subject: 3year old 17” KDS monitor
Symptom: pressing power button often does not turn self on.

When: from cold start, inconsistent, sits days not working, then sometimes works fine for several days.

Local shop wants $45 up front to test. With new replacement only $150 it seems like a poor bet.

Is this likely to be fixable?
I already have boat anchor.
Should it become temporary curbside décor ?

as cheap as they are go for new one.

It might be just the switch take it apart and hot wire it, see if it fires up.Or take a multimeter and fiddle around in side and see what comes up.But if it gets in the shop then I'm sure it might be a problem no one has heard of which will run at least a hundred.

As the case is very nice, I'll make a planter out of it. Should impress the neighbors. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Now ya got it.

Give it the 'ol Elvis treatment w/revolver and end its misery.

Set it in the front lawn and poke a flower in it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
