I have a ECS K7S5A with SiS735 chipset mother board, AMD Duron850, 256DDR ram.
Since I fitted a AGP Geforce4 G/B, I seem to get a lot of graphic problems. I down loaded DX8.1 and run the Dia to test my system and when it gets to test the bouncing cube in full screen mode it locks up.
Some games wont run and all I get is a broken up screen with jagged colours and again the system locks up.

Hi jiggy.
1:- On board video has been disabled
2:-I'v just installed 28.32
3:- The ECS mobo site is not very helpful.
Since I installed 28.32, I re-tested the directx8.1 dx and the same problem is still there. May be it could be the nvidia program settings, but I'm not too happy with playing around with them as I dont understand the tech side of things.

ok try this, go to contral panal/systems and remove your graphics card then reboot it will find new hardware then reinstall the drivers, also is the card seated in the AGP slot ok?
if not you could format C: and reinstall the os (ONLY AS A LAST DITCH THING)

Tryed that the other day, I re-formatted the hard drive, re-installed the software, etc etc.
The only thing tht does happen is that Windows ME P&P my monitor, then when I install Nvidia software, it also installs the same monitor as another P&P device.
On another note that I have just found, was one of the games that would not run, does noe that I activeated "Disable Video Access" from with in the game. that game seems to work fine now !. So is it "Nvidida" software that needs tuneing !.

its got me thinking, do you know someone that has a puter that will support the GF4, if so try it on there puter.
have you ryed the latest mobo drivers?
it mite be that either the card, drivers or WinME isn`t happy.
was there another AGP card in before the GF4, if so was that happy?
you have tryed different drivers. plus, make sure you are not using the first PCI slot for anything, as its shared with the AGP slot.
help needed.
forgive me, im young. Jiggy

Often times with the GeForce card you need to find a particular set of drivers that everything is happy with...which often means trying several sets of older drivers.

mjc is correct.
I have a GeForce 3 and tried using the newest drivers from Nvidia v.28.32 and my system would locked up whenever it felt like it.
I currently have v.21.81 and never had a problem with it.
You can install the drivers over each other. No need to uninstall them first. I went from v.21.81 to v.28.32 back to v.21.81 without a hitch.
Just start with the newest version and work backwards till you find one that is agreeable. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
