whenever i startup my pc the autoexec file (or config.. or whatever that startup file my pc is reading) displays a bad command or file name message for a file inside windows/system directory. it's looking for a pnp.exe file...
how can i fix this.. i didn't erase anything in the system folder... where do i erase this line? or could i erase it??
please help

Try going to Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information and run the System File Checker from the menu bar, I think it's under Tools.
Using Scanreg to repair or replace the registry might help too, but I'm not sure about that one.
Someone posted a great scanreg link, I haven't found it yet, (Thought I'd saved it) but Promise (http://www.promise.com/techsupport/Trouble/using_scanreg_to_restore_a_corru.htm) has good instructions too.
