I have a no name machine that always gives me a soundblster pci64 driver cannot load midi waveset. Playback disabled message. There are no midi wavesets on the driver disk or in windows. They are *.ecw files. I found them on creatives website but they are bigger than a floppy and the other machine is not on the net. Am I out of luck? Where are these darn files? Even if I set it up on the net is downloading them going to fix this and where would I install the buggers?
Help
Does the machine have a CD drive?
If so you can download the files and burn them to a CD, also may not be a bad idea to grab the latest drivers for all the devices on that machine and then burn the whole set to a CD, you should be able to do that for any updates or patches to the installed software that is on the machine.
If no Cd then you can use a file splitter to split the file into floppy sized chunks.
If there are no wavesets then yes you need to add them in order to get any sound that would require them....

I did and downloadd the sob's and it worked. Why did they put out a driver disk with so much bull? I don't have a cd burner that works and I would need a multi read drive! What a crock! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/redface.gif
Many people have had this problem I suppose. Do they just not give you midi wave sets? Mistake or what?
