Freinds system can't get anything more than 16 colors, lowest resolution. Would this indicate a driver problem? If so would it be monitor related or video display adapter?
Their system is as follows; cyrix mII 266 mhz processor
sis onboard chipset
win98 se
40g hd, 128mb sd ram

when you right click the desktop look under settings you should have 3 choices High color 16bit,256colors,True color32bit make sure you press Apply when you change it your not going to notice that much difference any way not to the naked eye.is this a CRT,have you gone to M$ update page it usually will pick up on a driver up-date?

I don't know what they get when they right click on desktop, I have been talking with them on the phone, They tell me in control panel>display properties>settings>color pallette, all that is available is 16 color, not 16 bit.
They're not connected to the internet yet so they can't go online for drivers.

mwr,
You could get them for your friend and put them on floppy to load later. You'll need their system plus videocard info (or mobo if onboard video) if M$ doesn't have ones that will work.
