First, welcome to the http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif ! tony o http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Next, that K6-2 is your main problem-the newer Geforce cards really depend upon a powerful CPU for best performance { around 600mhz > }, you're puting a lot of strain on your system with that particular combination. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif
Go into your hardware accleration settings and reduce it by a notch-play your game for awhile and see if that helps. If not keep reducing the acceleration by a notch until it's stable.
Unfortunately, in your case the only real solution is an upgrade to an Athlon or P III CPU. The k6-2 just doesn't have the FSB, cache settings nor instruction set to be able to adequately handle the Geforce 3 > greater cards. They were designed with Athlon/P III 's in mind, not the old P II/K6-2 series.

I was afraid someone was going to tell me that. right now funds are low so I can,t upgrade , but lowering my settings did help, now if only i could play and use the internet at the same time, as you may have guess i can only play games or turn-off all accerator functions to do other things on my computer. any ideas? It,s a pain to keep shutting down change settings, then reboot.
