Hello,
I cannot seem to find a way to change the refresh rate on a system at work. The OS is W98SE with a NVIDIA TNTZ M64 4xAGP video card.
It makes it next to impossible for me to use the PC because the display is flickering quite badly. As my co-workers cannot see what I am seeing, it is somewhat difficult to convince them that there is something wrong.
The boss says that he sees his screen flickering too and finds it annoying but tolerable. In other words - just live with it ... His suggestion is to change the colors and see if it lessens the flickering... It doesn't work for me, so I am hoping to find a solution or will have to find another job.
Is there another location for changing the refresh rate other than the display properties?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Looks like you might want to move to a Scandinavian country! Have a look HERE (http://www.homepages.dsu.edu/moranm/Perfect%20PC/Display%20settings.htm). http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Is your company running XP? Look HERE (http://www.xp-refresh.net/).
THIS (http://www.d-silence.com/video/refresh.shtml) was also interesting regarding the optimal setting.

Thank you Whyzman.
I tried this procedure at work, however, the option for the refresh rate is not showing.
Is it possible to access it some other way? If not, then is it safe to assume this is an inferior video card and that it should be upgraded to something better?
Thank you.

Are your computers independent, or are they connected to a server?
From the articles it says that much is determined by the limitations of the monitor itself...so, would you ID the monitor and perhaps we can see what's up with that! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Thanks for the assist Whyzman.
Today the employer's guru of PCs showed up and said that the reason I could not find the refresh rate was because the driver was outdated and the system did not recognize the recently installed Trinitron monitor. He set the refresh at 120hz. I now have the ability to change it if need be.
As usual, the articles are very informative and I have added them to my favorites for future refrence.
Thanks again.

hyitsme,
Oops, that missing piece of information I neglected to ask about. I assumed you found the refresh rate since you knew where to look for it...but that it just would not take!
Glad to know the problem is resolved...thanks for posting back to let us know! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
