I took the top part of my laptop off to see what kind of modem I have. I didn't remove or unplug anything on the inside. I put it back on and turned it on and the screen is blank. I can hear it booting up, the lights go on but nothing happens to the screen.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do. Thank you

Hi and Welcome, I'm sure youll find everyone here very friendly and Helpful.

If you have access to a monitor you could plug it in to the graphics port of your laptop and if it boots up and displays on the monitor you have at least confirmed the laptop works, it just the screen having problems.

If you post details on the machine then it might point people in the right direction especially if its a common fault with your type of laptop.

We had a range of CI Leo laptops that all had a wire break in the hinge between the main part of the laptop and the screen but it sounds like you just had something come loose.

I dont know there name but in a lot of laptops you have cables that have no plug just the end of a flat ribbon that slides then locks into a slot and others with cables that have plugs that are like small versions sound connectors.

Often when tring to dismantle a laptop it is very easy to dislodge these especially due to the way they are constructed and youre having to juggle, pry and lift different layers of components.

connector a monitor then post your results with you machines details and I'm sure someone will be able to help you through.

Hi..I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4270 laptop. Unfortunately, I don't have access to another monitor I could plug-in to check. It was working just fine before I took the top part off. I had recently reformatted my hard-drive and installed Windows 98, but was having problems with my modem. I have AOL and it kept saying it could not initialize my modem. So, I thought maybe I was not using the right modem and wanted to check and see what kinda was really in there. Now I can't see anything. Thank you for responding to my post so quickly!! I hope you can help me.
