Mustek USB scanner won't work

I recently bought a Mustek 1200 UB USB scanner, I keep getting the pesky comment "Check Cable" this is driving me nuts, the Scanner software is loaded OK, I noticed someone having a similar problem on here the other week.... Can U help please.......?????

Jp Try checking your USB hub drivers in system properties. When loading my scanner I had to use the USB drivers off my scanner disk.
