scsi card conflict

operating win 98 2nd edition
had 2 hard drives and upgraded to one
30 GB drive.
use scsi for scanner
use another scsi for syquest tape backup.
after harddrive installation scanner came back on line but not the syquest tape drive, when booting up dos sees the syquest, but windows does not. The device manage say's there is a conflict with the scsi card, but I can't find it.

To be sure, you only have one SCSI card correct?

As I understand it, SCSI devices each have to have their own unique ID number. Someone else might be able to tell you how to set them, I don't know much about it. Also, the SCSI chain must be terminated at the last device in the chain. Sometimes the card itself also needs a terminator.

The only thing I can think of is both devices are trying to use the same ID.
