Sony Face Plate fit?

I have a SONY VAIO 233 WIN.95 P.11, I just removed the old sony CD rom 4x read only, and replaced it with a new SONY CD RW 12x, 4x, 32x (I think those are the numbers).
My Problem is the SONY face plate won't fit with the new CD RW installed. The CD is to wide by 1/16" & to tall by 1/16", and won't open through the slot in the face plate.
Does SONY or anyone else have an adapter or possible face plate cover that will fit around the my SONY CD RW?

You may have to go about this the old fashioned way and custom fit the faceplate yourself.

To do this you'll need a small file and alot of patience. You need to make smooth even strokes with the file the whole length of the slot and on the sides also (the same number all around unless it is noticibly off center to begin with). After doing this all around check the fit and repeat until the desired fit is achieved. Go slowly and lightly because you will be filing plastic. Remmber to file in one direction only (on the push stroke)and a light touch please.
