communication error

Hello
I have an HP printer p1000 model and the printer will sometimes not come on to print unless I reboot the computer or disconnect the usb connection in back of the computer for a few seconds then reconnect ..then it will work ..
any suggestions will help ?..thank you athcom

HP has a history of posting patches on their website for this exact problem w/other printers (i.e 722c)..have you browsed there site for this particular printer?
