peer 2 peer speed problems [Archive] - The PC Guide Discussion Forums

I have a xircom cardbus 56K global-10/100 ethernet in my dell inspiron 5000. I have a new net gear pci 10/100 network card. I down load xircom's real view software and latest drivers. with real view i see that 100 mbps full is recognized.

the problem is transmission speed. Going from pc to notebook I observe 80 mbps. BUT going from laptop to notebook i get 200kbps. I switched cross over cable to a new one from CompUSA.

Any ideas?????

I am running windows 98 se and 98 or 98se on the notebook.
