View Full Version : PCI Controllers missing

I'm trying to install a USR PCI modem card, but it's not being recognized. Is it because the drivers for the PCI controller are missing? And where can I get them?

PCI means winmodem. Drivers should be available at the USR site, or you can go through Windrivers (http://www.windrivers.com) or WinFiles (http://www.winfiles.com) to get there. Once you download the drivers, unzip them if necessary, instructions should be posted on the download page, or a link to them, then run the setup.exe or install.exe . Winmodems are installed by the software, not by running the Add Hardware Wizard. Look for instructions on their website.
Also sometimes the modem has to be physically removed from the case before driver installation, then installed afterward. Again the instructions should refer to this.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you!
Note: Please post your questions on the forums, not in my email.

Problem solved, thanks. It seems the modem wanted to use COM5, and the system was only loking at COM1 and COM2, go figure.
