i think this problem is related to my new voodoo4 video card. every time i cold boot my system, it displays the video bios screen, displays the bios POST & memory test screen, tries the floppy drive, beeps, and stops. the screen then goes blank and no further activity happens. i shut it off & turn it back on, and it boots fine. what's going on? it's just an annoyance right now, but i don't want it to become a real problem. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

If you still have your old video card (and it still works) re-install it and make sure that the problem is originating from your new card. Most likely if you're seeing information on the screen, it's not the card. Is the beep a normal beep? Or is it a "beep code"? If you search yahoo or any other major search engine, you can find sites that give the beep codes for certain motherboards. Different beeps designate what device is your problem. Otherwise, I guess just make sure it's properly in the slot and that BIOS is set up correctly. Some motherboards have a setting in BIOS where you tell the motherboard how much memory your video card has. You might check that too. Best of luck.

Your problem does not sound quite like what I have read about the Voodoo 4, but some people have cleared up their problems by upgrading from a 250W power supply to a 300W or higher. The other suggestions sound good (and don't cost money), so try those first.
