Give some details about what kind of PC you have and what operating system it has. Has anyone recently messed with it since the last time your floppy worked?
What kinds of problems are you having to make you want to reload your operating system?
Most of the time reloading is not necessary to fix your problems..

ok ill try heres what i now....

OS- win98
Pentium II 350
128 mb ram
2 hard drives 1 4gb and another 15 gb.

I removed my floppy drive using device manager, when i rebooted, it reconised the new hardware and installed the software, but still says its unacesable. The same thing happens with my CD-R.

Other problems i have is when i turn the printer on it makes a noise as though the cartridges are stuck, but there not. I runed the checks for my printer and it says everything is fine( its a hp 820cxi prosseional series)

do u need to now more???

The floppy LED constantly on ususally means the ribbon cable is flipped over backwards. The #1 pin (red line on cable) is usually opposite of the orientation of the hard drive cables. The drives sometimes have the pin numbers marked on the PC board connection, but you may be hard to see while it is installed. It is also possible to be offset by one pin. Also look where the ribbon connects to the motherboard. The usual configuration is that the IDE and floppy have #1 on the same end.
