On this fairly new (Sep) Dell you press "Delete" to get into the BIOS. Don't you just hate those manufacturer splash screens? I disabled this one in the BIOS so I could see the POST info...where it would tell you that "Delete" is for entering BIOS/Setup. If you got a fast computer...then you gotta be fast on the button. If this doesn't work check out their site for your model and you will find how to enter setup there(I had to find it on there site as well)
ps-this is a 4100 Dimension

The [Esc] key will clear the splash screen so you can see the screen running behind it.

Different keys for setup:
[F1]
[F2]
[Delete]
[F10] (Compaq usually)
[Ctrl] + [S]
[Ctrl] + [Esc]
[Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Enter] some Dells.
Reset button twice- Some Dells.

Others work for different computers, but those are the most common. It's usually [Delete] or an F key.

I used Ctrl+Alt+ Enter and got in the BIOS of my Dell computer. I wanted to set bootup from CD-ROM first. But I have only two choices: Diskette first or Hard disk only. Does that mean I can not boot from CD-ROM at all?

Unfortunately some motherboard/chipsets don't support booting from cd. I think you may have one of these. Dell may have some more info on their website: Dell Support (http://support.dell.com/)
