Hi ya all

I posted a question before about basic networking and got lots of good advice, I'm a stage further now and am trying to get ICS working.
I have two PC's 98SE and 95 both with a Network card and a Xover cable, I am using TCPIP and had to assign IP addresses (192.168.0.1 and 2)to each to get file and printer sharing to work. I then loaded the ICS on the 98 PC and I got some other TCPIP protocols added to the list, it made a disk for me to update my 95 PC but it didn't seem to do anything to the network settings of the 95PC? the readme file was not explanitory either.

Needless to say the Internet works on the 98 (dial up) but not the 95

Any help or pointers would be appreciated?

cheers

pbarr,

what are you using the win98 internet connection software?? I have the same network as you and found that the win98 stuff didnt work. I managed to track down one that does work www.analogx.com (http://www.analogx.com) the proxy prog they have (freeware) is easy to set up, to date I've had no problems..

Forgot??? I would advise you to install a firewall if I was you, get the best free at www.zonealarm.com (http://www.zonealarm.com) The full link for the proxy prog is http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/proxy.htm

Good Link!!

It'll come in handy next time someone ask about ICS.
