I was going to put SDRAM 128M on a Gateway computer. I took the old one, which is Hyundai9804 32RAM out, and put the new one in. But i got black monitor, nothing on it. I could not even turn the computer power off. I had to unplug the power outlet! Please help!

Hi,

Need a little more information. How old is your system? Do you know which motherboard it has?

The problem could be related to incompatible memory, bad memory, or the motherboard does not support a 128mb stick of memory.

Post back with a few more specs. Somebody around here should have an idea or two besides the above.

Cheers,

Well u should try those RAMS on another motherboard and see if it works, if it does, your board is probably not compatible with the 128 MB 1 chip RAM. As for taking off the cable to turn your pc off, U can simplu push and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn your pc off.
