USB not found

hi, this is a repost because the first ansnwers didn't work,(they said check bios to see if USB is enabled, it is)

i recently installed windows 98 again, however now it can detect the USB ports (i don't know if there different makes of USB of anything so i don't know what drivers if any to get!!!) help please i need to use my scanner!!
its not the actual USB as it was working before format
