My Armada 1540(win95) lost it's display when I tried to get rid of nortan antivirus software and all it's components(NAV Files). When I restarted my notebook,All the usual sounds and microsoft startup sound the same but no display.I managed to bring the display back to life twice by shifting the restart slide next to the start button.I'm wondering if I could have accidently deleted a wrong file. When I uninstalled Nortan antivirus and restarted,a danger icon appeared(one or more of your antivirus components are missing}.I was okay with that for a few days, then I decided to attempt to get rid of that warning.I took a guess that NAV FILES where probably the components,so I deleted both of them and thats when the problem occured.Any Help out there, in the wonderful world of GEEKDOM will be greatly appreciated.

I have an Armada 4210t (win98) have you tried to get into your computer using the windows "safe" mode? (hold the ctrl key or f4((I think)) ) that should allow you in. If you deleted through windows explorer the files should still be in your recycle bin. If so try to select restore from the recycle bin. I am not sure but you may be able to reinstall nortan in safe mode and failing that replacing files will work if you made not of which files are missing

Hope that works

The ONLY way I know of to UNINSTALL Norton is to use the Uninstall feature of the software program itself....otherwise you will have a multiple set of problems......To fix this on your computer, I would REinstall Norton antivirus (in safe mode if necessary) and then uninstall it using the Norton uninstall icon associated with the other icons it puts in the Programs listing when you go to Start/Programs/Norton...etc YOU NEVER WANT TO JUST "DELETE" A WINDOWS BASED PROGRAM....unless you want problems http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
