View Full Version : Water stains on laptop screen

My water bottle leaked into the same bag that held my laptop.

Everthing still works fine, but the TFT screen has what looks like drying stains inside it. How can I dismantle the screen to clean it?

My laptop is a PCG-818 Sony Vaio

I;ve heard many nightmares about trying to fix laptop screens. I'd STRONGLY SUGGEST you go to a place where they are familiar with replacing them. Otherwise, if you are good with wires and things, you may be able to find (but it would be a very difficult search) for a screen that is from the same laptop. There is a wire which connects the screen to the laptop. Anyhow, if you do decide to do it yourself, remove your broken screen with the wire (I honestly dont know where the wire connects on the computer since I'm not good with that stuff). Put in place of it the new screen and connect the wire if you find out how to. I'm sure there is plenty of documentation online for this (how to build laptops?) http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
