On my new Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop, the layout of the keyboard is such that the Delete, Home and End keys are now placed at the top, faraway from the 4 Arrow keys. I find it quite inconvenient to shift my entire hand up just to press the delete key, when I used to be able to use my thumb to press the delete key, which was situated conveniently next to the arrow keys on my old Inspiron 3200.
I use the the above 3 keys quite often, especially in MS Word 97. I would like to customize the keyboard such that the right Ctrl key becomes the delete key, the right Alt key becomes the Home key and right Shift key into the End key.
Going through Tools->Customize->Command tab->Keyboard shows a dialog box that only offer me to create keyboard shortcuts for certain actions. Even the All Commands option excludes the above 3 basic actions.
I also tried going through Control Panel->Keyboard, but the only things I can change are the speed, repeat and language settings.
How can I customize my keyboard to what I would like, be it in MS Office 97 or Windows in general?
