Silly question I know, but I seem to have lost my graphics card on my thinkpad. I assume I have always had one, 'cos I have played "graphic" games on it in the past. But I went to install an old motorX game circa 1998 and it tells me that it can't find any 3D graphic hardware. How can I a) check? and b) rectify the situation? Thanks

Hi,

Chances are that you have onboard video on that laptop. Another good possibility is that it's not accelerated for 3D applications.

If you would like to know what graphics card you have in the system, go to Start/Settings/ControlPanel/Display/Settings/Advanced/Adapter. That should work for whichever flavor of Windows you're running.

Is it possible to go ahead and install the game anyway? If so, it might be that it could use software rendoring to play the game.

Post back with your progress.
