First off I'd like to say thanks to all the people sharing thier knowledge here on this site and I guess on many others. Problem. My International student has this Sharp (Mebius) laptop that that displays warnings and errors on boot up. The warning states ...system checksum bad-default configuration used....Error warning :IRQ not configured-PCI Bus:00, device:03, function:02....Error warning :IRQ not configured-PCI Bus:00, device:06, Function:00... Error warning :IRQ not configured-PCI Bus:00, device:07, Function:00....I am very new to computers, so I called someone for advice and they said to change the cmos battery. Did this and it booted up normally. On the next boot up it was back to the error page.Another phone call and then tried resetting cmos to default. This only worked once, to enter setup f2 is the key, but cannot enter setup anymore.Another funny thing is it started up normally 2 nights ago...no errors, windows loaded and everything, but just that one time. AS far as any beeps during bootup I only heard two short ones, is this normal? I checked for beep codes and they all seem to be longer. Anyways, other stuff I learned about this laptop....Pentium II Windows 98. Thanks in advance for your reply. DS
