I am using a Dell Inspiron 3200-wPentium II Processor- 233 MHz-80 MB Ram-Microsoft Win 95.
My problem is the LD screen is so dim you can hardly read it. I use the buttons that are supposed to increase or decrease the brightness of the screen but nothing happens. Help! doctorc

Could just be a dead screen. I have one here at home that dimmed about 3 years ago. No matter what computer it's hooked up to it will not return to it's former brightness.

Mabey someelse will have some better experince with this type of thing then me.

When you attempt to adjust the screen's brightness etc., do those features appear bright as they should? Hmmmm...in other words, does the adjustable brightness "bar graph" appear bright by comparison to the dimmed background?

Could be as Ghost said, that the screen is ready for pasture! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

Just checked on eBay and there is an auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2026108138) for a 3200 "Backlight" stating that these have 8000-10,000 hour life expectancy.

Notebooks are not my thing so I don't know if this would affect the dimmness issue. If this is what's happening to yours, you might want to have a look at the Dell site and see if their Support-Troubleshooting addresses the issue. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Does your 3200 have the ability to hook up to an external monitor? If so, perhaps you can run a Dell diagnostic on it referencing the Video.
