View Full Version : Closing programs in the background for Windows 95

In windows 95, when I need to close programs running in the background(to free up resources using a cd burner), (all except Explorer and systray), using ctrl alt delete, then ending task, is there a way to close them all at the same time? I know about startup in windows 95
and system config/startup in windows 98 but just need to close the programs when I use my cd burner.
Is one by one the only way? Thanks for any tips

I believe that TweakUI will allow you to close down those programs. You can find it at www.hotfiles.com (http://www.hotfiles.com) or www.annoyances.org (http://www.annoyances.org) Make sure you get the one for Win 95. And for a great deal more info on burning CD's check out http://www.fadden.com/cdrfaq/ Keep the burn speed low and you'll have a great deal more luck and quality burns.
Try PC Magazine's EndItAll (http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/info.html?b=pcm&fcode=0011NB). It will keep Explorer and Systray running, in addition to programs that you select to protect.
