Can anyone answer help me with this? My wife has been getting a message when Windows boots, that says "incorrect version of MAPI32.DLL" I tried running the fixmapi program, but that did not help. I restored Internet Explorer to a previous version, that did not help. I even reloaded Windows 98, and that did not help, either. I am about ready to strip her hard drive and do a clean install of Windows, but I am hoping you good people can give me some info that will keep me from having to do that...any ideas? Thanks, Dan

It may be that an incorrect version is in a directory other than the default directory.

Search for and rename extra Mapi32.dll files, as follows:
1)Quit all running applications.
2)Click Start on the Windows Taskbar.
3)Point to Find and click Files or Folders to search for MAPI32.DLL files.
4)Rename any Mapi32.dll files not located in the default Windows\System directory.
a) Right-click the file name.
b) Click Rename on the shortcut menu.
c) Rename the file
5)Close the Find dialog and restart Windows

You could also try running SFC from START -> Run and then extracting just that dll from the Win 98 CD.
