When starting up Win95 64 RAM 350Mhz PC, I get the intermittent error 'Windows Protection Error while initializing IOS'. Then the PC freezes. A reboot normally sorts this out. Any ideas as to why this would happen and why it is only intermittent?
Cheers..

Check my site, I have a link there to a MSKD article concerning Windows Protection Errors, and an article linked to in one of the ones already posted concerns AMD K6-2 350MHz and higher, which had a problem with win95 due to a timing issue. AMD released a patch. Q192841 (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q192/8/41.ASP) is the article.

Q149962 (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q149/9/62.asp) is the link to Windows Protection Errors.
