I recieved this message in dos prompt after formatting a friends hard drive .. Wondering if its the motherboard and if its fixable.. Im ont really sure what it means ...
Need a GURU to help ............
Can you give a little more information about the system?
Include things like processor, operating system, drives, other componants, exact wording of error message....
One thing to try is try to enter the BIOS setup and reset the default parameters, most BIOS setup programs can be entered may hitting either <f1>, <del>, or <f2> keys some are combo keystrokes.
I have read about corrupt Plug&Play BIOS', so Mjc may have hit the problem.
While checking around, a search came up with thisPCGuide link (http://www.pcguide.com/ts/x/sys/booterrGBER49-c.html) with info and troubleshooting steps.
Not quite right since 1948
