I use my machine to play games, and that is pretty much it. :_)

Does anyone know if WIndows 2000 Pro will work with most games, and play them ok?

I have a T-bird 1 ghz, and asus A7V MB with 256 mb of ram.
32 meg Geforce 256 VC

Any comments?

Thanks

2000 does work with most new games. For older games it will depend on if those games would work with NT. The installer will check the ID of the operating system and 2000 reports itself as "NT".

I perfer to run my games in ME (be warned that an "ME" installation is not for the faint of heart). I use NT4 for half-life and currently have no games installed on 2000. The games run OK ,it just that 2000 has some problems with some 3d cards and I never got around to adding the patches.

Hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Unless you are an experienced computer type.....STICK WITH WIN 98 SE !! The other two operating systems are either for business apps (Win2000) for the most part or they are unproven (as in Win ME). Win 98 SE is as rock solid as Microsoft can make right now for a gamer and internet user....whatever THAT means.
