Is there any site out there which offers indepth information on Windows 9x Operating Systems? There is stuff that I would like to know about device drivers and CMOS settings and 'step by step configuration' and 'safe mode'......the whole works. Troubleshooting is often a guessing game for me. I am really interested in knowing the process of loading windows(what actually happens when the computer boots up). I understand simple things like 'SYS C:' when a system file may have been corrupted, or scan disk, or surface scan. I really want to study this. This will also help me to help others on the forum.

Hi,

Best place I know of is Microsoft's site itself. It has a Knowledge Base that addresses a multitude of known bugs, etc. but along the way, you learn how and why the software does what it does. Otherwise, just do a search on Windows, +Help, +Whatever else you can think of. Winmag is a good site as well, but probably won't get as detailed as you would like.

Hang tight and a few otherw will no doubt have some excellent sites for you to choose from. Happy reading!

Cheers,
