I get this error whenever I shut down my computer (Windows 98 2nd),
“A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C15D346B in VXD Netbeui (01) + 0000152B.” I don’t really know when this all started and I’ve been ignoring it for some time now. In the past, it has shut down successfully. I recently installed a second network card but like I said, this error was coming up before then.

I already went through the “Startup, Shutdown Troubleshooter” in the Help area without any luck. I downloaded the Windows 98 Second Edition Shutdown Supplement from Microsoft but haven’t ran it yet. Wanted to seek advice before I run this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of links to try.

The first is Microsoft: Windows Shutdown Problems (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q238/0/96.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=safe%20mode&rnk=37&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=W98SE)

The second is Advanced Power Management (http://support.microsoft.com/support/windows/tshoot/apm98/)

The third is Fatal Exceptions (http://http://windowstrouble.com/fatal.shtml) a nonMicrosoft site that helps pinpoint the problem causing the error.

MJC, Thank you for the links. Just to let you know, the Fatal Exceptions link is not correct, but I corrected it on my own. Will play with this shutting down problem soon. Thanks again for your help.
