This might belong in the operating system area I don't know, but I can't install Windows98. I can start my computer fine and it goes through scan disk, but as soon as it get to the point where its loading the setup files, when it gets to 100% it hangs and won't go further...the only Windows OS I can get to install (I've tried Windows98, Win98 SE, WindowsME, and WIndows2000 Pro) is Windows2000 Professional. I do no have any anti-virus monitoring programs running.
This baffles me because I have done frequent formats and installs and never, ever ran into this problem. It may help to know that I was going from WindowsME back down to Windows98. I know that with Windows95 it use to change the boot sectors, so that if you were going to go back to Win3.1x it was advisable to do a low-level format.

I haven't tried low-level formatting my drive, yet, but I don't think it is necessary.

What do you guys think? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Going to lock this one so we only have it in one place. I looked for info when I read your other post, and didn't find much, but at least found a starting point...Check that one.
