Three weeks ago I had 3 128m pc 133 sticks of memory in my sys.I now have one stick available. The memory passes its initial boot test, but when i run Nortons sys diagnostic,it fails the memory test at 267186117.Also,if I run a game(Unreal Tournament)it will lock up.The first stick went out 3 weeks ago.Yesterday the second stick was gone.Under sys resources and MEM.EXE it shows the right amount of memory, but its not running that way.Could my overclocking of the cpu have an adverse effect? Is their anyway to pinpoint the exact stick with the mem address that was given to me by Norton?Thx for your help.

Overclocking.........heck yes it could have an ENORMOUS effect on lock-ups as well as other stuff....like DAMAGE to cpu and motherboard if you dont know the temperature your cpu is running at vs what it SHOULD run at to be stable. You will always get memory errors if the cpu has been clocked beyond it's capabilities (and just because Johnny across the street was able to overclock his Celeron 300 up to 500 mhz doesnt mean yours will!). Not all cpu's are created equal. See if you have all the memory detected with out overclocking......bet you will see all of it! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Glad you figured it out. From what I understand when you overclock the CPU you also overclock the memory, unless your motherboard has the capability to set the memory speed separately from the CPU bus. That's the reason the memory problems popped up.

That is when you overclock by increasing the frontside bus, not the multiplier.

Air. Fans. Winter. Particularly the last via 4" ductwork. 1100 was experimental. Due mainly to a wimpy psu I usually run at a conservative 980.
